Do we not have time to finish our tasks or do we just use our time less efficiently than we used to? I did a poll last week asking if you thought life would be more peaceful 100 years ago. We don't realize how much our brain is wired for constant dopamine/distractions now. We lose so much time checking our social networks then if we steadily work on something consistently without interruptions. It's been a hard adjustment but waking up super early before the kids has really helped me organize my day. When the kids are up or I wake up and hustle, I feel like I'm constantly playing catch up. What do you guys think? What do you think? . . . Raw cake from last week! Over 1000 of you saved this recipe! So cool and grateful you're all here. 🙏💖😘 . . . … Recipe: brownie layer: 🍄2 cups of hazlenuts. 🍄1/2 cup of whole blanched almonds. 🍄2 cups of medjool dates, pitted. 🍄3/4 cup of cocao powder. 🍄1/3 cup of rice malt syrup. . . Wild blueberry cc. 🍄3 cups of soaked cashews. 🍄1/2 cup of maple syrup or rice syrup. 🍄1/2 cup of coconut cream. 🍄1 cup of wild blueberry juice (strained from cooking wild blueberries on stovetop). 🍄1/4 cup of almond milk, before you pour in determine if the mixture is already thin. If not put a little at a time. . . Method: Brownie: 🍄 blitz all the dry ingredients in a food processor. Add wet ingredients and blitz again. Test if the batter is sticky. 🍄 press on the bottom of a 9 inch spring foam pan. Freeze. . Wild blueberry layer. 🍄 blitz all the ingredients and pour onto brownie layer. Freeze overnight with your toppings of choice. . . . . Enjoy! I used to think that being right, or winning a conversation or idea, was the way life goes. That you were “winning” at life. And if I lost at being “right”, well, I must be weak. But what does being right mean actually? When we argue, what do you win? It just doesn’t matter if you are happy and content with yourself then it doesn’t matter. You WIN when you make others feel good about themselves and make their day better. I think we focus on the small details rather then working on solving the bigger picture. I always try to shift my way of thinking rather than go with the first thought that goes into my mind. If someone is rude to me, maybe they are dealing with something at home. If someone cuts in front of me without signalling or saying thanks, maybe their kid has to go to the washroom urgently (this happened to us lol). Reframe everything. It’s not all bad and there’s always a way to make every situation positive. Most situations! . Cranberry pear compote 🍐1 clementine. 🍐1.5 cup of cranberries. 🍐1/3 cup of maple syrup. 🍐1 pear, diced. 🍐1 T of lemon juice. 🍐1 tsp of cinnamon. 🍐simmer all ingredients until cranberries are still holding their shape. It should feel jammy & thick. . Crust: 🍐2.5 cups of flour. 🍐2 t of coconut sugar. 🍐1/4 tsp of salt. 🍐1 cup unsalted butter, vegan. 🍐1/2 cup ice water. 🍐Mix all the ingredients until a dough forms. Fridge it for 30 mins minimum. Roll out onto your tart pan & clip away extras. Poached pears 🍐1 cup of cranberries. 🍐2 pears, sliced thinly. 🍐1 T of lemon juice. 🍐1/2 cup maple syrup. 🍐1 stick of cinnamon. 🍐boil cranberries. Turn the heat on low & simmer for 20 minutes. Turn off heat & place pears inside. Keep the pot closed & leave for 1 hour. Transfer the pot to a fridge & leave overnight . . . We've had an orange tree that's been with us when we got married and over the years it's given us flowers and sour small oranges. A month ago it started shedding leaves and looking so frail and sickly. I thought it was the end of our orange tree. But after it shed (nearly) all its leaves, it started growing with so much abundance. Branches started growing so quickly and green leaves sprouted everywhere. We even got small oranges and flowers! 🍊🍀☘🌱 . . All of us go through shades of sadness and happiness. Our eyes see before our minds see. We really can't assess what anyone is going through unless we go deeper than the surface of what's obvious. We also need to be deeply patient with ourselves and know that, even though it may not be your best time right now, growth and beauty will come. 🌷 . . . Beautiful plate from @lot.15 💕. . . . Blueberry pie recipe is a couple posts back! Enjoy 🙂 Sarah xx . . . . . . . . . . . . _____________________________________________ #dessert #bestofvegan #plantpowered #veganrecipes #foodstyling #foodphotography #cake #onthetable #healthyfood #dairyfree #refinedsugarfree #veganfood #thrivemags #wildblueberries #berries #autumn #prettyfood #foodblogger #tarts #vegetarian #gurushots #gloobyfood #veganvultures #beautifulcuisines #blackberries #kaylaitsines #bbggirls #bbgcommunity 💕

Raw cakes are a great way to bring out the recipe creator and designer out of you! I LOVE how versatile they can be and basically anything goes. This does not have ANY dates or a ton of nuts. Instead you have soaked buckwheat and psyllium flour to accent the sweetness that comes with xylitol. . . Recipe: Chocolate base: 🍰1/2 cup of almonds, husked, roasted & then blended to make a fine flour. . 🍰1/2 cup of coconut sugar. 🍰1/2 buckwheat grouts, soaked, drained a few times. 🍰3 T of cacao powder. 🍰1 T of psyllium flour. 🍰1 T of coconut flour. 🍰1 T of protein powder or mushroom powder. . . 🍰 Blend your buckwheat with almond flour and sugar together until super smooth and then add the rest of the ingredients. Place in your mould(s). . . Blueberry jelly layer: 🍰2 cups of wild bluebs with 1/4 cup of maple syrup. Simmer on low for 20 minutes. 🍰Strain wild bluebs until all liquid is drained. . 🍰Save the pulp for a breakfast jar like the one I made yesterday. 🍰 reserve 1/4 cup of juice. 🍰 use the rest for the jelly. 🍰1 tsp of agar agar powder. 🍰 1/4 cup of maple syrup. . . 🍰whisk together in a bowl and transfer into a pot and boil briefly. . . “Cheese”cake filling: 🍰2 cups of cashews, soaked overnight. 🍰1/4 cup of water to blend. . . 🍰 blitz in food processor until smooth. 🍰 1/2 cup of xylitol. 🍰 1 T of lemon juice. 🍰 1/2 cup of coconut oil, melted. 🍰 1 tsp of vanilla powder. 🍰separate into two portions. . . 🍰 put one portion back into the blender and mix with blueberry juice. . . Assembly: 🍰 pat down cookie base. Freeze for 20 minutes to set. 🍰pour in vanilla layer. 20 minutes to set. 🍰 pour in blueberry layer. Set for 2 hours. 🍰 pour jelly layer on and freeze overnight. . . So it takes some planning ahead and prep but so worth it! These are so good! . . _____________________________________________ #droolclub #hautecuisine #forkyeah #veganfood #feedfeed #veganrecipes #dessert #forkfeed #foodphotographer #pursuepretty #gloobyfood #rawcake #buckwheatgroats #bestofvegan #f52summersendoff #kaylaitsines #bbg #bbgcommunity #foodstyling #foodphotography #toronto #canoncanada #cheesecake #wildblueberries #frozentreats #f52grams #thrivemags

Creamy buckwheat porridge with chia, yogurt and jam. 😻 This was prepared RAW. Meaning since buckwheat is a seed, similar to quinoa, it can be soaked overnight to reap its beautiful benefits! No tummy trouble because soaking it breaks down the barriers to digestion! It has all 8 of the amino acids. And has magnesium. I am such a fan of magnesium. We are so depleted in this essential mineral. Magnesium helps regulate muscle function and helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles! Who doesn’t want a natural age saver?! Go on, try this recipe. I’m sure you’ll love it! 🤗 . . . Recipe: 🍇1/4 cup of buckwheat groats, soaked overnight. Drain and wash out a few times to get rid of the cloudy water. Soak in 1/2 cup of plant based milk. 🍇1 T of chocolate protein powder from @happywayau. 🍇1 mashed banana, ripe peach, or apple or pear. Anything essentially that’s in season that you want to add to your pudding that will mash easily. 🍇1 tsp of xylitol. 🍇1 tsp of chia seeds. 🍇2 T of coconut yogurt or any yogurt. 🍇Use a hand blender and blend your breakfast in a small bowl. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then stir it again. . . . Using Sculpted10 will get ya 10 percent off your order at @happywayau 🤗😚🙌💜. . . . . . . Enjoy!! Tarts are highly addictive to make. I had no idea how well agar agar can make something set! Topping the tart was like topping a smoothie bowl but without worrying that it would melt! Score. Inspiration from the talented @foodie.yuki, @nm_meiyee and @bos.kitchen was what made this tart so easy! I used my crust recipe and used @nm_meiyee filling. I substituted berries with wild bluebs and used lavender infused water rather than plain water. ☘🍀🌿 . . . . Crust: 🍑 1.5 cups of dairy free butter. 🍑 3 cups of flour. 🍑 3/4 cups of coconut sugar. 🍑 9 T of almond meal (i made fresh with almonds in a food processor!). 🍑 a tsp of vanilla. 🍑 combine all dry ingredients in a large bowl. Melt butter until it's slightly soft and pour into dry ingredients. Mix together and let it rest for 10 minutes in fridge. 🍑 bake in oven on 350F for 30 mins. Before you start pierce the crust with a fork in a couple of places. . . . Enjoy!! If I told you that there was one thing that you can do to help you live better, longer & look better too – would you say yes? And what if i said that you don't have to go to the Himalayas to get it? Nope. It's right in your own home. It's water. Water makes up more than half of us (55 percent). It helps with cellular function, cushions our spine & so much more. Water makes up 80 percent of muscles so it's crucial to gain and maintain muscles as we age. The times we need water the most is right after we wake up, after a plane ride & after a vigorous workout. 💦. . Peppermint bites: 🌿 3/4 cashews. . 🌿 1/2 raw almonds. 🌿 1/2 cup of pecans. 🌿 1/3 cup of activated groats 🌿2/3 rd cup of shredded coconut. . 🌿 1 T of chocolate protein by @happywayau 🌿 1/2 cup of rice malt syrup. . 🌿 1 cup of dates. 🌿 2/3 cup of coconut oil, melted. 🌿1/4 cup of coconut cream. . 🌿 2 T of maple syrup. 🌿 1 t of peppermint essense. 🌿 1 T of blue spirulina. Sunday baking resulted in a delicious almond tart with wild blueb compote topped with fluffy meringue. It was just so good! Did you do any baking? Do you enjoy it? 🥞🥐 i have to admit i did not cook or bake anything until my twenties. Everything has been self taught and there is a passion that drives it. I love finding alternatives and making food come alive with flavour and health. Whatever your past is, never think you can't learn and grow. . . Almond tart: 🍰3/4 cup of almonds, raw 🍰1 cup of dairy free butter 🍰1/2 cup of coconut sugar 🍰2 cups of flour . . Place almonds in a blender and blitz until it is crumby. I did this on high for about 30 seconds. In a separate bowl, mix the sugar and butter. Add flour and almond crumbs to the bowl.  Let it rest in the fridge for about 1 hour and then press into a tart pan. Preheat the oven to 350F. Blind bake the tart. Remove from oven after 10 minutes and remove the weights, and bake for another 5-10 minutes until the edges are a bit golden. . . Wild blueberry Jam: 🍋2 cups of wild blueberries. 🍋Juice of 1 lemon. 🍋2 T of coconut sugar. Mix all the ingredients in a pot and simmer for 5-10 minutes and then let it cool completely when finished. Aquafaba meringue: 🍬Pour liquid of chickpea can into mixer and mix on high for 10 minutes, or until foamy and white. 🍬Add 1 tsp of xantham gum and 1-2 cups of icing sugar. I did 2 for this batch. 🍬Mix on high for another 10 minutes until glossy stiff peak form. When tart is completely cool, layer blueberry jam on top. Then add the meringue. Garnish with more blueberries. . . Thank you daniela @danistrailcooking for the sweet mention this morning! 💕💕💕 . . Enjoy!
